Mommy Knows Nothing

I'm no expert. Just trying to do better today than I did yesterday.

Titles are Hard

The Fourth of July, over the last two years, has become my favorite holiday. We start in the morning and go all day from one activity to the next. It's E.X.A.U.S.T.I.N.G. (which is why I bought Matt and I some 5hr Energy drinks to swig come early evening when things are just starting to ramp up) We have the Ward/Neighborhood breakfast in the morning, Sandy City promenade before it gets too hot, swimming at Grandma's, BBQ at our house, Fireworks on the hill at Jordan High, then back to our house to shoot off some more in the street. It's the best holiday for me because it includes neighbors, the ward, best friends, family, mixed in with all that Americana stuff. At the end of the day, I just feel so blessed and thankful and overwhelmed with the wonderful life we have. I'm already feeling it this year and it hasn't even started. This is prob all I'm gonna post about the 4th. I pretty much summed it all here when I posted a play by play of last years 4th. It's pretty much a repeat.
I know I talked about this last post, but it's still true and current so give me a break. I quit my job. I did it all irresponsibly too, because I don't have another one yet. But I still donate plasma twice a week, so I'm going to enjoy the rest of summer with the boys and hope I find something in the fall after school starts. I'd love a job in the schools, an aide or something, part time. We'll see who I know, because it's definitely not what I know.

I want to go back to school and finish. I have an Associates Degree of Science from Snow College already. But really that's just a degree in General Education. I've narrowed it down to Radiology Tech (and then get a job doing ultrasounds all day) or teach school. I know all the HoRoR stories of teaching. I've known ALOT of teachers from Curves. I've heard all the garbage they go through. But, it's great mom hours and I think the day to day with the kids would be fun. Anyway, I'm leaning more towards Radiology Technician because I've alwasy been interested in the medical field, but never wanted to be a Dr, Nurse, CNA, Pharmacist, etc. And I love computer and technology crap so it seems to be a good combination for me. But I need help finding out information about getting grants and financial aide. We are so poor I know we could really qualify and qualify good. If you have any tips, send them my way. I don't even know where to start. Except, actually go down to the campus and talk to someone. And who wants to do that? But I will. If necessary.

Welp. See ya later.

I've never heard you talk about going back to school. Good for you! We looked into radiology tech--the biggest challenge is the long waiting list to get in. You do all the pre-req's, THEN you sign up and wait. It can be two years. But I could totally see you doing that job! As for teaching--I think you'd rock it. What age? Cause I totally see you in Jr. High. I think you should come "job shadow" with me next year and just hang out in my classroom with me. We'd have a blast making fun of everyone! ;) Both are great choices for you, and you're such a brain I know you can do either! I really would love to talk in more detail so call me! We got financial aide last year and we got A LOT, so I'm sure you can too!

Fill out the FAFSA as soon as you can. You can do it free online. fafsa.com or something like that. Jared got a ton of grants for his nursing school this year, so we didn't even have to go anywhere else for aid. Good luck!

The school should have a financial desk with all the information you need. You probably can do everything like apply and get information right at home on your computer. My school even has instant message set up to ask questions. Easy peasy. Just got to do it. Good Luck!(And pell grants are awesome cause it's like getting paid to go to school. Sweet.)
