Mommy Knows Nothing

I'm no expert. Just trying to do better today than I did yesterday.

It's FINALLY here

As per our tradition, we drove up to the mountains Conference Sunday to see the leaves. I call it a tradition because we've done it before. Once. Two years ago. And now we did it again. BAM! It's a tradition.

We drove up Big or Little Cottonwood Canyon. I've lived here all my life and still never remember which is which. We got to Silver Lake and got out.

Peyton waiting for Matt to catch up. Mom trying to c atch up with Kooy.

The ducks were fun to watch.
Throwing rocks at the the ducks was fun too. (but not condoned by mom)
I was grumpy for the following reasons:
1. I wanted to drive the Alpine Loop. We drove up Big/Little Cottonwood Canyon.
2. We left for a drive and now we are hiking/walking. NOT part of my plan.
3. Matt brought the extra camera batteries, but left them in the van. Only got a few shots.

But who could stay mad when you've got these two cute boys hanging all over you.

I think they'll be breakin' hearts in a few years.

And lastly, we got the important family shot. Definitely not a 'gotta frame it and hang it in living room' family shot, but it for a scrapbook it'll do just fine.

After we walked around the lake we went back the van, to continue our drive up and over Guardsmen Pass.

Oh wait. I forgot one.
4. Locked our keys in the van.

It was Matt's fault really. But it could also be blamed on both of us for a lack of communication. He failed to communicate to me that he put the keys in my purse. I failed to communicate to him that I left my purse in the van then locked it.
Some friendly mexican men offered to help. The wing windows were open so Matt pulled out some "pin" got it to open enough to reach his arm in and was able to reach the lock/unlock button that's in the rear. That button is handy, and not just because you can unlock the doors while you are loading your groceries in the back. As we have just discovered.

I love Fall. I want to go to Frightmares but we aren't able to swing it this year. So, I've looked and found lots of other free/cheap things to do this month to celebrate. Stay tuned. It won't be long til I post again. Promise.

So fun! Love Silver Lake. We don't have the fall season around here, so I am sure the girls are loving it up there right now. The boys are getting big! See you next week. Thanks for helping with the girls.

Looks like a fun time! Sunday drives with family are some of my happiest memories. And TWICE totally makes a tradition!

Congrats on the weight loss. I'm pretty sure I'm finding whatever you're losing.

Yay! A post from Lisa! I'm ridiculously excited about this. Man, what cute boys you have! We went to Silver lake just a few weeks ago--the leaves didn't look that awesome yet! And by the way--YOU LOOK AWESOME. I'm so jealous! you really look great! You are so lucky that you found someone to help you with your van-what would you do otherwise? Man, I would have crapped a brick if that happeend to us!

Love the pictures!!!

I love Silver Lake and that is the easiest walk Lisa...your so funny you didn't want to walk around it.

Oh no the keys!!!

I feel your pain. One time we got gas and Rob thought I was inside paying as I got drinks for us. Of course I thought Rob was paying at the pump- the right way to pay for gas. We drove up to Park City and when we got home we had a call from Officer such and such asking us to go back and pay for our gas. oops.

And I think the family picture is adorable- you should frame it!
