Gettin' Down on the Farm

Dad flew in Saturday morning and Mom flew in that afternoon. But again, this post isn't about my parents travel itinerary. This was the day we had originally planned to go to the Frightmares, I wanted to do something festive so I wouldn't be sitting around all day wishing I was there. I found the Wheeler Farm to be a suitable substitute.
Dad, my bro and his two girls picked up mom at the airport and we met them for lunch at Cafe Rio. (yummmmmmy....I had the usual Grilled Chicken Tostada, but I especially enjoyed the Chips and Queso.)
Then it was off to get down on the farm. Maybe I'm smokin something but I thought it was a pretty good price for what we got. We (and when I say we I of course really mean my dad) spent $36 and this is what we did.

Matt, Trent, the boys and the girls did the the corn maze. After maneuvering the crazy twists and turns and dead ends, your reward for making it through is getting to pick your own pumpkin to take home.

Here's our lot. (Stay tuned for the post about carving them.)

Then we all got to go on a hayride. It took longer to load the wagon then the actual ride itself. The highlight for Matt was the "little person" taking tickets. Now I'm as big a fan of TLC's Little People, Big World as anyone. And I mean no disrespect, but it is always fun to see one. Kind of like seeing polygamists and local celebs.'

It took me forever to get this shot together but I finally pulled it off. I have visions of sepia tones when scrapping it.

When I took this picture I was looking at my dad and it reminded me of their wedding pictures. Dad's looking good these days! So proud of him.

My handsomes in the big tree. Go Utah and Silly bands!
Then Grandma bought tickets for us to milk the cow. And Dad reminded us all of the time when we were little and did this. The cow relieved himself and my sister Leslie threw up all over. We all had a good laugh while remembering. (See Leslie! We don't forget about you. )
Then we stopped and got $1 Frosty's from Wendy's on the way home. The kids ate them on the trampoline and Peyton got it all over his face and in his hair. The bath water was really dirty that night. Which was awesome, because you know what they say, the dirtier the bath water, the better the day!
