Big D came over to play today. Kooy loves him. He calls him "My Derek." I'm glad Kooy has such a great friend who lives right across the street. Today they played marbles. I accidently dressed Kooy to match Derek today. (In a hand-me-down shirt that was Derek's first...thanks Rachel!) I think it adds to the cuteness.
I like when Kooy's friend come to play or Kooy goes over to their house to play. Because let's be honest...it's gets him out of my hair for awhile. I can steal a few minutes to go play on the computer. When a friend is at our house Kooy will leave me alone and I let the boys play. I admit I am not watching them all the time. Rachel and I have talked and both admit it's probably led to some "accidents" that could have been avoided. Like Kooy throwing sand in Derek's eyes and he had to go to the Urgent care office(which no one can confirm but I am about 85% sure he did it) and Derek pinning Kooy to the floor of a tent and jumping on his back or two little boys running around naked. (Disclaimer...this wasn't my kid and it didn't happen at my or Rachel's house. We won't name names. I only mention it as an example of what kids will do when nobody is watching them) They make huge messes that they won't clean up. I say to myself..."I don't care what they do, I will clean it up later, just let me have some time alone!" Once Kooy took out every single VHS movie out of our entertainment center. He took the movie out of the case and threw both the movie and the cover into a big pile. I just watched him (sort of) do it. I was reading the Twilight books and couldn't be bothered with trying to stop him.
Maybe it's lazy parenting, maybe it's just a different approach to obtaining a balance between watching kids and still getting in adult time. I don't know. I just like when Kooy plays with his friends.

OMG...soooo cute! And you are so funny Lisa! I still think you are a great Mom!
We have that toy, too, and it was a hit when the boys were little. LOVED it when they both started dancing (kinda)...very cute boys.
I'm with you! Anything for a free minute. Sometimes I can't make myself care or clean up because lets be honest, it doesn't stay clean for long no matter what you do! I just make sure the scissorsare hidden and usually they don't get into too much trouble. :)
