He gets it!!!

So I can't believe it's been so easy. The first couple of nights he would wake up and come into our room. We would tell him he needs to go lay down in his bed. So we ( and when I say we I of course mean Matt) would take him back, tuck him in again, and sit on a chair beside his bed until he fell back to sleep. The first two nights he got up twice. Then the next few he only got up once. The last three nights he hasn't gotten up at all!!! He wakes up around 7:30 after Matt has left for work and I let him climb in with me and watch cartoons. He is so proud of himself. This is him putting his fifth sticker on the chart and then celebrating because we are finally going to Chuck E. Cheese. (That picture is obviously posed but he really did it and was much cuter in real life. I just didn't have my camera ready)

We haven't even talked about his next reward. It's going to be really small. I'll take a trip to the dollar store or something. I wish I would have made it more days in between rewards. The suggestion I found on the internet suggested five so we went with it. Oh well.

So, we are 8 days in and it's looking good. I love my boy. I'm so proud of him. I'm also proud of us (Matt) because let's be honest...it's really us (Matt)who had to decide to be strong and put him back in his bed in the middle of the night. I know it's still early but I think we'll finally lick this thing this time. Our reward will be a better nights sleep (for Matt, I don't sleep well either way and won't until this new little one is sleeping through the night) and not having a little boy kicking us or stealing our pillow from us so that we are sleeping on about the last four inches of the pillow while Kooy is sprawled out on the rest of it. I admit I do miss the cuddling and him holding my ear until he falls asleep, but we still do that for nap time so I'm okay. :)
