So it's the middle of winter and they say the high today will be 40 degrees. (Although...my little weather bug at the bottom right of my computer says it's already 42 degrees) That doesn't stop us from adding a cool breeze to our home. My husband has the day off from his real job. But that doesn't mean he isn't working. He and his dad installed ceiling fans in the boys' bedrooms today. All we really needed was new light fixtures because:
1. In Peytons room only one side worked. I think we replaced the light bulb a couple of times because so much time went by and we'd forget that the fixture was broken and think it was just a burnt out light bulb.
2. And it didn't have the funny square glass thing to cover the light bulbs.
3. In Kooy's room it worked just fine...we just wanted a new square glass thing because the one in there had red cowboy motifs on it and it just didn't match the new race car theme.
So when my Mom came to town to see the baby and help me get used to having two kids, she put on her Landlady hat and bought us new lights. She suggested we just go ahead and get ceiling fans and not just light fixtures. I said "Great!"
We are enjoying a fully lit bedrooms for now. It gets kind of cold when we run the fans. Come summer time though we'll stay nice and cool! Thanks Mom!

Awesome! We made the same change at our house except that my spouse never did get that second fan installed. It's still in the basement. 5 years later. Sigh.
