WalMart and Happy Meals

We shop at WalMart. (sorry dad) It fits our budget. That being said, we do not LIKE to shop at WalMart. Especially the one a Quarry Bend. There shelves are ALWAYS empty. They are always out of at least one thing I need on my shopping trip. I don't understand it. They are WalMart, the hugest store in the whole universe and they can't keep there shelves stocked? The person in charge of purchasing should be fired. That is all I have to say. The one at 114th South is 100% better.

So anyway, last payday we went on our bi-monthly big shopping trip to WalMart to buy some groceries, and all those other items we just can't live without. When we got home we realized that Kooy had just been spoiled. He got new shoes, new backpack, new jammies, a new booster chair dinner table, diapers, and wipes. Okay, so the last two item are necessities but seriously! Did he need all that other stuff?

  • The shoes were just cool, we couldn't say no.

  • The backpack was practical. It's is new diaper bag. We always forget to take one with us when he goes to g-ma and g-pa's house. This way, he is in charge and actually carries it himself. It's spiderman too...and he loves it!

  • The jammies. All he has are a bunch of blanket pajama's that are so warm and with the weather getting warmer he just sweats all night. So I've been getting one pair here and there and slowly building up a supply.

  • The booster was kind of an indulgence but it's turned out great! He loves to sit in it and now he will sit with us all the way through dinner. He evens eats sometimes too! We could have probably done without it but we are really glad we bought it.

  • The diapers and wipes....I don't think I need to justify those purchases.

So here is Kooy. He's only wearing the shirt to his new jammies, but he runs around the house 80% of the time with no pants on anyway. When I told him to smile for the picture he insisted on standing on the his this chair.

Then he wanted to stand on this chair.

And can I just do a shout out for this month's Happy Meal toy. Usually they are crap and Kooy plays with them for about one second and then they end up in this drawer with all the other lousy Happy Meal toys we get. This month it's these funny little American Idol figures that play funny little songs. Kooy has totally loved them. He plays with them all the time. We taught him a few dances moves. So after modeling his new stuff and started to dance for us. Maybe it's a video only a mom can love but here it is...(there is other music in the background...you'll know when it's the toy)

I know what you mean about Wal Mart. I hate shopping there...and I have found that while some things are a good price...target has cheaper prices on certian items...like fruit snacks and granola bars to name a few. And you never have to wait in line for more than like 3 min. And it is just classier all around.
But sometimes we do have to make the trek to Wal Mart, and I agree with you that Quarry Bend is the absolute worst!

Kooyman is sure cute! Love tha dance. And I hear you about the PJ's. Derek needs some too, for summer, and so does Clint. But what can you do?

An aunt can appriciate that video too. I love the fingers in the air. Awesome. You sign your kid up for dance lessons, I'll sign my kids up for dance lessons and then we'll make them dance together. They will be so embarassed and we will love it. And yes, Death to Walmart! The worst part is standing at the stupid checkout for 5 years!

I TOTALLY agree!! I like to go to the one in the "quarry" only because it's not packed like the one in South Jordan BUT...they are most often out of what is on my list too. It's a hit and miss. Since Target is closer I've been attempting to start making them my store of choice...I guess it's time to get off the fence.
