Mommy Knows Nothing

I'm no expert. Just trying to do better today than I did yesterday.

I got that call.

You know the one. The one you never want to get. Luckily for me, it really wasn't too bad. Matt left at 6am for work today. Fifteen minutes later my phone is ringing. He knows I went back to bed, he normally wouldn't be calling me, I knew something was wrong. He had been in an accident. It snowed last night and this morning and the roads were really icy. He was on the freeway, going slow of course, as all good and rational drivers do when conditions are such. The other car was going to fast. Lost control and hit Matt on his passenger side. Sent Matt spinning and he hit the left hand guard rail with his bumper. Matt is okay. He was all shook up when it happened. He's home now and the soreness is setting in. His whole body slammed against his door, so his shoulder is really sore. He thinks he may have hit his head too. He has a small goose egg, but he's fine. The other driver was fine too. The damage doesn't look too bad but definitely needs repair. I am worried it will cost more than it's worth and they will just total it out. The other car, which was an Astro Van, had a lot of front end damage and was towed. Matt was able to drive our car home. The other driver was of Mexican descent. There is some question as to his identity, meaning the officer wasn't positive he was the same person as on the drivers' license. He was driving alone with a learner's permit, so he got a citation for that and also for an improper lane change. Anyway, the vehicle was definitely insured, thank goodness!, so we shouldn't have any problems with the claim. Cross your fingers! Matt is going to stay home today and recover. We are very thankful that he is well and nothing worse happened.

I'm glad Matt is okay too! Count your blessings that he is verify-ably insured! Cause it would be a pain to have to deal with the damages by yourself.

It has been awhile since Matt was in an accident. It was bound to happen again, sooner or later. I am so glad that Matt came out of it unharmed again. How many wrecks has that been?
