In Case You Were Wondering

I was supposed to start my diet today but I am sitting in front of the computer eating the last quarter of the chocolate pie my dad made while he was here. There is a hefty sized bag of Muddy Buddies on my kitchen counter that cannot go uneaten. We had a birthday party for Peyton yesterday and have a ton o' cheesy potatoes, rolls, and b-day cake left over. And since I live in the paycheck-to-paycheck world we've created for ourselves, I cannot allow all this food to go to waste, when it could feed the fam for two-three days. So I will start my diet NEXT monday. Because whoever heard of a someone saying they were going to start their diet on Thursday. No one. So I won't be the first. Until then, the name of the game is PORTION CONTROL. Starting, that is, after I finish up this quarter of a pie.
It's 2010. In case you didn't know. It's all over blogs and facebook so I'm sure you noticed. I was going to go into this whole thing about pondering over the last 10 years. How much life has changed. Blah. Blah. Blah. And while I am still feeling very thankful and mindful of the blessings I've received and in awe that 10 whole years has passed away since I got engaged to my Honey Bunches, I'm not going to go on and on. I'll write it in my journal. That I'm going to resurrect.

We had some great holidays. Christmas went off wonderful. I am officially a M.O.M. I got a CrockPot, Hot Cocoa Maker, three aprons, and the Creche for my now complete Willow Tree Navity Scene. I got some new bras too. They are not the Victoria's Secret bra all my friends are getting but pretty sassy all the same. I will post picture of me in the aprons...not the new bras.

Kooy got his bike from Santa. Thank goodness! Few days before Christmas he got really worried and didn't think he would get one. When we asked why he said, "The elves can't make a bike for me. They are too small." We assured him that they had chairs and ladders they could use but it still wouldn't convince him. He didn't pee his pants (which is rumored to have happen before to some other cousin-type family persons), but he was really excited. He sat on it at the kitchen table while he ate his Christmas breakfast.

Peyton did well for himself. Among other gifts he got, of course, what else, but a Peyton Manning jersey. He loved his new riding toy too.

Then off to St. George we went. Mom and Dad were there visiting my bro. We saw some red rocks, saw the temple, and ate at In and Out Burger. And in that order too.

Spent New Year's Eve at my other bros house. We watched Star Trek and played rock band. It was fun! I was more surprised than anyone, having not wanting to go over at all, it ended up being a great party. My lil bro was here from Boise with his cute preggers wife, Tara.

Peyton turned ONE on the 29th. We celebrated by driving home from St. George. When we arrived home, Peyton wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse to celebrate. We were happy to oblige.

Then we had the family over on Sunday to celebrate it officially. It was fun. He got lots of great presents which I'm not sure who liked them more. Peyton or the big "kids" putting them all together for him and showing them how they work. I love seeing my kids playing with their cousins and there were plenty running around last night.

I was supposed to start today too! And I did- right up until 5:00 pm when I made cookies! DOH!

How fun to see your family. It's been A LOT of years since I've 'seen' any of them (well, except you of course).

Sounds like a fun holiday (except the part about being in a car with kids for that many hours).
