I think my four year old is addicted to Mario Kart Wii. And because he HAS to have someone play with him, I think I am a little addicted too. The last two mornings from breakfast til about noon we've played. We need to start setting some limits. He's complaining of headaches lately and I'm sure Mario Kart is to blame. Tomorrow I will do better with limiting the Wii playing.
He is always wanting us to play. He says "I put it on 2" in a singy-songy voice, as if to say "You better come play or else you're going to lose." So he starts racing and I am about my business, then I walk by the TV and see my guy still just sitting there by the starting line, in 12th place, and I just can't stop myself. (praying that every block I get is a bullet so I can have a chance to catch up.) I think I'm being played.

They other night he convinces Matt to play with him.
Matt says, "Ok. I'll play ONE race with you. That's it."
Kooy sets it up, they are at the starting line. 3....2....1....
Kooy- "Daddy? Why you play one race with me?"
Matt - "Because I love you."
Pause in conversation while both are maneuvering sharp turns and jumps.
Kooy- "Dad, one race isn't love."
Matt- "Oh really. What is love?
Kooy- "Ummm...like four races."
Matt- "So love is playing for four races with you?"
Kooy- "Yep."
So Matt played four races with Kooy. We wouldn't want him to think he's not loved, now would we?

Lisa,
This is too funny! Some of my favorite memories visiting Utah family were playing Mario with you when we were like 10. BTY we have mario kart for the wii. It does rock.

Oh that cracks me up! I can't wait to hear my baby girl say hilarous things like that! I played that at Kelly's once, and I totally suck. But it IS addicting! I'm kinda jealous!
That boy is smart- he certainly knows how to work it! I got totally addicted to Zelda a few years ago. I try to avoid games now as I get TOTALLY sucked in. I don't even play them on Facebook.
And I'd say it's AT LEAST 4 races to prove real love.
That's hilarious. Dallon pulled out our N64 and Noah LOVES the old Mario Cart. Maybe it's time we bought it for our wii...
Watch out, you'll be playing 4 races every time you sit down now! At least he's loved. :)
Yep, that's love...4 races.
I"m so glad you wrote this story down. He'll love it when he's older!
That is my grandson for sure. Loved it! skw
