Digi-Scrappin'

It's conference weekend. Back in the old days I used to pack up all my papers, stickers, adhesive, elements, photo albums, etc, etc, etc and haul it down to the scrapbook store. There, me and my borrowed friends from my sister in law, would listen to General Conference and crop ALL DAY LONG. I would get a ton of pages done. Spend tons of money. Chat with the girls. Get totally uninterupted scrapbooking time. And listen and get more out of Conference than watching it at home (cuz I'd be asleep on the couch...let's be real) It was awesome. I looked forward to it every six months.

Then I got busy with kids and husbands work schedule and kind of lost the scrapbooking spirit. I missed one or two Conference Crops. Then I had to move all my scrapbook stuff out of "the office" because it was now going to be Kooymans room. I moved it to the storage room. There it has sat for a year now.

I knew when I moved it down there it would be semi permanent because a friend of mine was really interested in Digital Scrapbooking. I had dabbled a little bit in it before, being taught by another friend who already did it and LOVED it. And because it takes me more than one person to tell me something is cool before I believe it...this is when I finally gave in. I obtained the software from my seasoned Digi-Scrapper friend, she gave me a ton of digi-kits, and I was on my way. So I now consider myself a Digi Scrapper now. I will no longer do it the "old fashioned" way. Too much work and too much mess.

But I will admit, when General Conference season is in the air, and I hear my sis in law is at her Conference Crop, I still get a yearning to go and be there too. I miss the chatting, the laughing, the gossip, the food. I REALLY want a laptop. Then I can get together with my friends and digi-scrap together. I can take it with me to digi-scrap. There is a retreat in April in Park City that I would love to go to. Don't know if I can swing the cost for either one.

I went to the DSM Open House last night and won a cd with 61 patterned papers, 3 alphabet sets and hundreds of elements. It was there new CD, Enjoy the Journey. It was awesome. Some people said I screamed like I was on the Price is Right when I won. I don't know. I was just really excited.

Here are some pages I've done:

And for the record: I totally created the Nickelodeon Universe sign on this last page. I was trying to match the original. I'm pretty proud of my self. But you don't have to be. :)

Really?? REALLY Lisa?? You've joined the digi-scrap world? I'm SO excited!!! We need to get together and do a little share! I want Photoshop CS4 so stinkin' bad but there's just no way. So I'm still using 7 and it still works. Your pages look awesome! If you ever DO get a laptop and go to a conference scrap (which DOES sound really fun) I would love to hear the jealousy of the other women when you close the laptop, put it in the bag, and say, "Well! I'm all cleaned up!"

OR you can cheat like me and have your blog made into a book. Yeah. You really can. Easy peasy pumpkin pie!

I've got all my scrap stuff boxed up too. Not sure what it's fate will be.

The layouts you did are darling! I keep meaning to digi scrap. I even have time now that the kids are in school all day. I just, haven't. Ugh.

Awesome!!! I keep telling myself I need to go digital, but I haven't. I love your pages. Check out my sister Becky's blog. She gets paid to create the kits. She's awesome. What program do you use??? http://sahmscrapper.blogspot.com/
She posts freebies and has links to her favorites that do freebies also.
