So I need to update. I'm sure you didn't notice my lack of posts. I talked to my mom and she really wants to see how my little boys room turned out. I forgot I told her I was going to post pics of it about two weeks ago. I've had a bout of "Blogger Inadequacy" (What do I have to say that I think anyone even cares about?) and also some huge competition for the computer. Kooy has become very proficient. He can turn it on, open the browser, and click on his link to play his games. It's kind of cute...and kind of nice. It buys me some time alone. He's pretty good at self regulating. He'll be done after a half hour or so and he'll come find me. What a cool kid.
So Kooy turned three.
We threw him a Race Car theme birthday party. He chose between Scooby Doo and that. We invited 9 kids, and 6 of them came. Which worked out perfectly really. The kids played with match box cars, we did car painting, which the kids loved! And so easy too! My super creative friend Rachel does this with her kids and I stole the idea for the party. All you do is dip a matchbox car in the paint and then drive the car over the paper. It makes straight lines and mixes all the colors and makes great designs. Then just presents and cupcakes. I saved money and just made them myself...with homemade frosting too no less! I didn't serve ice cream and no one even asked for it. Super easy and simple and kids loved it. At least it seemed like they did.
After he opened all the presents from his friends we told them there was one more upstairs in his room. (During the party, Grandpa and Matt had been upstairs getting it ready.) All the kids ran upstairs to see. We made them all wait in the hall until I got there so I could sneak in and get the "reaction shot." It worked out just like I pictured! He jumped onto the bed and all his friends followed.
He loves it! He sleeps in it...he plays on it. Since these pictures we've actually moved it against the striped wall. There just wasn't enough room for a pregnant momma to get things in and out of the closet. It's so much better now. His favorite thing to do is jump on it. He'll stand one ledge at the head of the bed(....or back of the car?) ...jump off...bounce bounce bounce...then slide off the foot of the bed (...or front of the car?) head first. He makes us watch his "Tricks" over and over again.
These pictures are how the room turned out after we painted and decorated. Remember my before picture? Click here if you didn't see it...Before. It's in that post just scroll down.
So that's pretty much play by play of Kooy's birthday. Aren't you glad I posted!

Thank you very much for the update, finally. I love the car decals on the wall, at least that is what they look like. The bed is pretty great looking. Our Kooyman isn't a baby anymore, he has a big boy bed. The room looks great. I can hardly wait to see it live, in a month.
Yay! Lisa is alive! I'm so glad you posted! What a cute bedroom! I'm hoping to get pictures of Afton's room up, but Trevor is working so much it's only getting done one inch at a time! What a fun birthday present for him!
That really was a great party! And the room looks great! YOu are amazing!
The bedroom looks great! I love the bed. I bet that he has so much fun on that. Will would probably never get off! Thanks for posting, don't ever think that your posts aren't good enough, I think they are excellent :)
I love it! I especially love the shot of all his little friends jumping on the bed with him. I'm so glad that went exactly as planned.
And yes- I HAVE noticed that you've not blogged much lately. Don't feel pressured, just be who you are (because you are one funny chick!)
