So on Wednesday I went to the doctor. I had the morning all planned. My nieces were getting picked up at 10 am by another aunt, then I was going to drop Kooy off at Grandma's by 10:30am and then get to my appt early enough to fill out a bunch of paperwork. My appt. was at 11am. Everything was going perfect. The aunt got here at 10 am exactly...I was very impressed...I was running a little late getting Kooy ready, but by 10:20 we headed out to the car. It was pouring rain outside so we got totally soaked just running to the car. I got into the drivers seat opened up my purse and NO KEYS! So I hopped out...ran back inside...looked in all the usual places. Still no keys. Then I did the usual...think to myself...where did I have them last? Where did I go? Then it hit me! Rachel's house, on the swing. I remember having them and being so bugged that my pants didn't have pockets. When I left I was carrying Kooy, I had picked up his shoes and I KNOW I didn't bring my keys with me. So in the pouring rain, I ran all the way to Rachel's but the swing was EMPTY!!! I thought for sure they would be there. I started to panic because without keys your life is basically over. I ran home...tore apart the house one more time. At 10:35 I called my mother in law to tell her I lost my keys. She said she'd be right there. So she came to my house and watched Kooy and I took her car to the doctor. I was only 4 minutes late. I got new insurance in August and have to change doctors so when I got there I had to fill out a bunch of paperwork. I appt. went great. I met my new doctor and I totally love him. His nurse was super nice too. She held my hand during the whole exam. After that, he did an ultrasound, I saw the heartbeat. He didn't take any pictures because it really didn't look like anything but a kidney bean. WHOA! WAIT A SECOND! DID I JUST SAY THAT?! SURPRISE! Yes, that's right. I am pregnant. I am 9 weeks along. Due date is about January 8th, but we'll know more exact after my next appt where he says the ultrasound will show more and they'll be able to get measurements. I have been sooooooo sick. Constantly nauseated. I started getting sick the middle of our trip to Boise. Just after I started feeling better from my sinus/ear infection. Perfect timing....I guess. I found out on May 1st, told all our families a few weeks later. Then decided to wait until after my first dr's appt to announce. The doctor gave me some Zantac to help reduce the amount of acid in my stomach. If that doesn't help he'll give me something for the nausea. So far I feel a little better. Still nauseated but it doesn't knock me out so that all I want to do is lay down and do nothing.
We are very excited. We started trying just before Kooy turned one because we weren't sure how long it would take us to get pregnant again. It took 18 months, not bad compared to how long it took to get Kooy. They'll be just over 3 years apart. I am sure he doesn't understand completely but when we ask him what's in mommy's tummy he does say "Baby." So that's our big news! I guess in Relief Society when they do the "Good News Minute" I actually have some good news to share. A few people already know but they've been sworn to secrecy until now. Anyway, that's all. Bye!!!
Oh yeah! I forgot. On the way home from the doctor I stopped at Rachel's again to look around. My keys were in her flower bed. Weird. Who knows how they got there. They were all muddy thanks to the rain but I was glad I found them.
